AROMA YIN: elemental experience

Come Restore Your Self through AROMA YIN: combining Yin Yoga and the power of essential oils. We will explore the five-element theory as it relates to the 5 pairs of meridians that run up the front of the body and down the back. Gently moving through poses to support the yin/yang relationship of the organs and how each behaves on an energetic level. Pairing the asana with essential oils that support normal organ function for the specific element.
The first pair is that of Fire: the heart & small intestine. The second is Water: the kidneys & bladder, the third is Wood: liver & gallbladder, the fourth Metal: lungs & large intestine, and finally Earth: the spleen & stomach. We will move through a series of asana with essential oils to enhance the fundamental function of chi (energy) in the body through each of the five areas. Enriching the strength and fluidity of healthy chi by slowing down and surrendering to our experience to restore the SELF.

Join me as we explore the combined benefits of yoga and essential oils to help you release emotional stress and live a more balanced life. Although often ignored, our emotional health is a vital component of our overall well-being. For centuries it has been proved that yoga provides emotional benefits as well as the physical benefits we often associate it with. Yoga reduces feelings of anxiety, stress & depression; and increases feeling of self-acceptance, calmness& balance. Essential oils are renowned for their ability to promote spiritual focus, enhance mental clarity, and emotional well-being. Essential oils are all around us. Most of us have experienced the energizing aroma of a freshly squeezed lemon or the calming influence of a lavender bouquet. Here we will combine the two practices in a nurturing and healing experience to harness the true power of your Self.
You will learn the history of essential oils and how they work on the body & mind to improve overall health and well-being. We will then explore 8 essential oils and unearth the many versatile ways we can incorporate them into our daily yoga practice for emotional wellness.

We will explore the seven Chakras as they relate to the meridians that run up the front of the body and down the back. Gently moving through poses to support the movement of energy throughout the body and pairing the asana with essential oils that support normal organ function for the specific Chakras.
The Chakras are the main Marmas or energy centers of the subtle body which energize all the Marma centers of the physical body. We will move through a series of Yin asana with essential oils and pressure/massage to Marma points to enhance the fundamental function of Chi (energy) in the body through each of the Chakras. Enriching the strength and fluidity of healthy Chi by slowing down and surrendering to our experience to restore the SELF.

YIN YOGA with YOGA NIDRA

Join me to slow things down with Yin Yoga poses designed to bring peace and calm to the body and mind. These floor-based, extended-hold yoga poses are designed to restore the optimal flow of energy throughout the body for overall wellness.
Once relaxed, we will settle in for a restorative Yoga Nidra/Guided Meditation session. Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation practice that rests and refreshes the mind leaving you feeling as if you had three hours of restful sleep!

the FIVE ELEMENT THEORY

The five senses with which we experience the world are connected to nature’s five elements.
According to Ayurveda everything in the universe is made up of these Five Elements, or Bhutas. They are found in all aspects of life and in all things. Each human being is a collection of these elements and we are continually engaging with them so we can add to our own sensory awareness. Our mind and body feel the elements through the senses, and it is through this sensory awareness that we experience life. Each of these elements offers unique qualities to our experience of living. And together, they are the basis for our connection with everything around us; our experiences with the external world affect the health of our inner world.
We will go through each of the five elements and how they affect us, then how we can work with nature through yoga, the chakras, and essential oils. Our practice will culminate in a Yoga Nidra/Guided Meditation session on the five elements.
